The Clash

• A myth persists that The Clash recorded a full album of reggae and dub tracks in Jamaica that was never released, allegedly due to label disputes. No evidence or tapes have ever surfaced.
• Inspired by newspaper headlines of the time, Joe Strummer liked the word 'clash' for its energy and its suggestion of conflict and confrontation, both musical and political.

• Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2003
• Awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (Grammy) in 2025
