Iron Maiden

• During the recording of Iron Maiden's album, a series of accidents (a studio crash, a producer hit by a car) led to rumors the album was cursed for its blasphemous title and themes.
• Named after a medieval torture device, the iron maiden. Steve Harris saw the name in the film The Man in the Iron Mask and thought it was a strong, memorable image.
